Your Guide to Stovetop Kettles

For over 30 years, our enamelled Kettles have been gracing kitchens, and in 2013, we introduced our Stainless Steel range. These sleek additions added even more variety to the already coveted collection.

However, it is not only the aesthetics that ensures the collection’s popularity. Our Kettles are highly regarded amongst experts for their construction and fast-heating design. There are many more reasons to invest in these hob-top essentials – here’s why.

Why You Need a Whistling Kettle

Contemporary or traditional – every curated kitchen needs one. They are, after all, designed to coordinate with our iconic collections. Styling them on your hob also clears up precious counter space. To add to their appeal, they release single-tone whistles when boiling.

Both good-looking and durable, our kettles come in two materials: full-colour enamelled Carbon Steel and mirror-polished Stainless Steel. Crafted to stand the test of time, each type boasts unrivalled resistance to corrosion and thermal shock.

Our Full-colour Enamelled Carbon Steel Kettles offer a vibrant touch to your kitchen with a range of stunning colours to choose from. Meanwhile, meticulously designed to complement the existing 3-ply Stainless Steel collection, our Stainless Steel Kettles featuring insulated black phenolic trimmings epitomise elegance and ease of use.

Considering functionality, both types are optimised for all hobs, including induction and gas – meaning you can enjoy a steaming beverage without relying on electricity. Other helpful design features include excellent heat transfer, enduring quality, and a wide base for fast heating. The hinged whistle also adds convenience, charm, and safety to the kettle, ensuring a delightful tea-making experience every time.

FAQs

One of our most asked questions is, “How do I take care of my kettle?”. These display-worthy essentials are, after all, treasured pieces that one would like to last a lifetime. Keeping them in prime condition is easy, thanks to their tough, durable nature. Here are some tips on doing just that.

How to keep a kettle from burning

Never heat it empty, leave it unattended, or let it boil dry. While our Kettles contain water, their temperatures stay at around 100°C, preventing burning.

How to clean a stovetop kettle

Gently hand-wash using warm water and gentle cleaning agents. To avoid damage, never wash it in the dishwasher.

How to descale a kettle

To prevent limescale build-up, use bottled or filtered water and empty the kettle after each use. Periodically, use a gentle descaler if needed or fill with a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar, boil, let it sit for 20 minutes, and rinse.

How to prevent rust

Avoid rapid temperature changes. After use, empty, dry and store your kettle in a well-ventilated, dry place. Lift the kettle on and off or across the surface instead of sliding to avoid damaging the base or the surface.
